বড় পাথর দরজা

 

মকড়া পাথরের তৈরী খিলান সজ্জিত এই প্রবেশ পথটি পাথর দরজা বলে পরিচিত ।এটী ছিল বিষ্ণুপুরের প্রাচীন দুর্গের উত্তরদিকের প্রবেশ পথ । তোরণ মধ্যস্থ প্রবেশ পথের দুদিকেই সৈন্য সমাহারের উপযোগী ছিল এই দ্বিতল দালান । তীরন্দাজ ও বন্ধুকধারী সৈন্যদের অস্ত্র চালাবার জন্য এই দানগুলিতে ক্ষুদ্র গর্ত ছিল । সম্ভবত সপ্তদশ শতকের মধ্যভাগে মল্লরাজ বীরসিংহ তৈরি করেছিলেন ।

This entrance is known as stone door, decorated with arches made of spider stone. It was the northern entrance of the ancient fort of Bishnupur. This two-storied building was suitable for the gathering of soldiers on both sides of the entrance through the arcade. These dons had small holes for archers and allied soldiers to fire their weapons. It was probably built by Mallaraja Virasingha in the mid-seventeenth century.
